Twins update

The Twins (36-27) have won seven straight and nine of their last 10 to move to within 1 1/2 games of first-place Cleveland in the AL Central. Minnesota's win streak is its longest since June 1991, when it won a club-record 15 consecutive games. The Twins are coming off their first three-game sweep at Boston in 12 years. In that series, Twins relievers pitched 15 1/3 scoreless innings and gave up 12 hits. Twins stopper Rick Aguilera saved all three games against the Red Sox. Twins leadoff hitter Chuck Knoblauch had five RBIs in the series. Mahomes and Tapani combined to hold the Orioles to three runs in their starts earlier this year as the Twins swept them three straight from May 13-15. Minnesota is 16-7 against the AL East. The Twins, however, are only 16-15 on the road and 12-10 on grass.
