POLICE

* Uniontown: A Taneytown resident told state police someone broke into his auto and stole 20 cassette tapes and a pair of running shoes Tuesday while the vehicle was parked on the lot behind Francis Scott Key High School. The loss is estimated at $260.

FIRE

* Union Bridge: Union Bridge and New Windsor assisted Frederick County at a house fire in the 9500 block of Keys Chapel Road at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday. Units were out for about 2 1/2 hours. New Windsor filled in with an engine at the Union Bridge station and Westminster filled in at New Windsor.
