* Mount Airy: Firefighters from the Mount Airy station investigated the odor of gasoline in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 at 5:25 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 29 minutes.

Fire volunteers from Mount Airy were dispatched to extinguish a trash container fire in the 1600 block of Ridgeside Drive at 9:13 a.m. Sunday. They were out for 37 minutes.

Firefighters from Mount Airy assisted Frederick County in investigating a fire alarm in a building on Hill Street at 11:41 a.m. Saturday. They returned at 11:58 a.m. Nineteen minutes later, they were called to assist Frederick County again for a fire alarm sounding in another building on Hill Street. They were out 30 minutes on the second call.

Mount Airy firefighters assisted Howard County at a woods fire at Route 27 near Watersville Road at 5:36 p.m. Friday. They were out for an hour.
