100 Years Ago

* Over 700 excursionists from Annapolis and Anne Arundel County left Annapolis today for Ocean City on the steamer Sassafras. The excursion was sponsored by the Uniform Rank Knights of Pythias of Annapolis. -- The Sun, July 17, 1894.

* Colored camp-meetings at Galesville and Riverview closed tonight. There is also a camp at Fowler's Woods, and another will start the first Sunday in August in Parole with the Rev. J. K. Plato in charge. All the camps were well attended, notwithstanding a drizzling rain. -- The Sun, July 23, 1894.

* Children's Day was observed at St. Martin's German Lutheran Church this morning. The exercises were in German. The Rev. Carl A. S. Berch is the pastor. -- The Sun, July 23, 1894.
