1.Scherr Homes and Housing America Through Training Inc., a subsidiary of the Home Builders Association of Maryland, are building 28 semidetached and 11 two-story single-family homes at Park West off Liberty Heights Avenue in northwest Baltimore.

The houses will be built on lots ranging from one-eighth to one-sixth acre. All homes will have a driveway that will provide parking for three vehicles.

Help with closing costs is available through the city's Settlement Expense Loan Program, and the houses have been approved for VA, FHA or Community Development Association loans.

The semidetached homes have 1,037 square feet of finished living space and a base price of $84,990.

The first floor has a 14-by-14-foot living room, 17-by-16-foot kitchen/dining room and powder room.

A 13-by-12-foot master bedroom, two additional bedrooms and a hall bath are on the second floor. A laundry area is in the unfinished basement.

The detached homes have a starting price of $94,990 for 1,200 square feet.

A 12-by-12-foot living room, 11-by-11-foot dining room, 11-by-9-foot eat-in kitchen and a powder room are on the first level.

Upstairs there is a 14-by-11-foot master bedroom with a bath and a walk-in closet, a hall bath and two more bedrooms.

A model home is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Wednesday. From downtown, go North on Liberty Heights Avenue to a right on Granada to the model at 4210 Granada.

2.Chateau Builders is building the 1,641-square-foot Fairfield model, the newest of five single-family homes the company is offering at Glyndon Gate near Glyndon in Baltimore County.

When completed, the Fairfield will be part of Chateau's commitment to have several homes built and available for homebuyers and relocation real estate agents seeking houses ready for quick occupancy in Baltimore County.

A traditional two-story, the Fairfield has a base price of $149,990.

The entry foyer leads to a 13-by-11-foot living room on the right and stairs to the basement and second floor on the left.

The first floor also contains a 13-by-10-foot dining room, powder room, 10-14-foot eat-in kitchen with pantry and 13-by-12-foot family room, which can be lengthened by 1 1/2 feet for an additional $5,380.

The master suite contains a 14-by-14-foot bedroom, walk-in closet and bath, which can be equipped with dual vanities, soak ing tub and separate shower for $2,530. Two more bedrooms and a hall bath complete this level.

Other Chateau models offered at Glyndon Gate include The Davenport at 1,302 square feet, priced from $139,990; The Montrose with 1,478 square feet, starting at $148,990; The Sagamore at 1,650 square feet, base priced at $162,990; and The Nantucket, with 1,779 square feet, priced from $158,990.
