Pelzel, Hartman join Fidelity Merit Title

Fidelity Merit Title Company of Baltimore has announced the addition of two people to its newly established Columbia office.

Janet L. Pelzel of Hunt Valley will serve as the branch manger and will conduct all settlements, examine titles and assist in marketing efforts.

Vera Hartman of Columbia will serve as a marketing representative. Lee Wilhide of Ellicott City-based Bev & Lee Wilhide's Flowers has been awarded the FTD "Member of the Year" award last month at a district conference.

He was recognized for an outstanding contribution to the floral industry. Robert L. Trantham has been named executive director of Vantage House Life Care Retirement Community in Columbia.

Mr. Trantham has served as dean at Garrett Community College in McHenry, dean of Genesee Community College, Batavia, N.Y. and was chairman of the Department of Speech and Theatre of St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City.

Prior to joining Vantage House, he was executive director of the Brownsville-Haywood Chamber of Commerce in west Tennessee. Piccolo's in Columbia has named Milton "Mick" Zalis as its sous-chef for its new restaurant, Piccolo's of Fells Point.

Mr. Zalis has worked at Galileo and I Matte in Washington, Stars in San Francisco and Chinois on Main in Santa Monica, Calif.
