Cash Lake to be opened to fishing

June 07, 1994

The Patuxent Environmental Center will permit public fishing at the Cash Lake fishing area, beginning June 12. Cash Lake is located along Route 197, south of Laurel.

The lake will be open to anglers from 6 a.m. to sunset.

The fishing area and pier are accessible to individuals with mobility impairments. People with disabilities are encouraged to contact the center at (301) 497-5586 for special permit accommodations.

Day permits are required, and applications will be accepted after June 1. The free permits will allow the holder and another licensed angler, or up to two accompanying children under age 16 to fish for bass, pickerel, sunfish and catfish.
