Man reports apartment burglarized

A thief reportedly stole clothes, shoes and gym bags worth more than $2,300 from an Annapolis home Thursday.

George Evans, 25, of the first block of Bens Drive, told police someone forced open his apartment door between 4:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., ransacked the rooms, spilled milk on the kitchen floor, and stole the items.

Salvation Army hires recreation director

Mike Shields has joined the Salvation Army of Annapolis as director of recreation.

He has a bachelor's degree in recreation and business from the University of Maryland.

He is the weekend supervisor of college activities for Prince George's

Community College.
