* The Bur Mon Bar in downtown Glen Burnie was rocked yesterday by an early morning bomb explosion that seriously injured Patrolman William J. Bower and the bar owner, Angelo Caliano, who had called police regarding a suspicious satchel. The blast was felt five blocks away after Bower had thrown the satchel into the street. -- The Sun, June 9, 1969.

* John W. Simmons, Jr., Anne Arundel County comptroller, states that the county building program will have to be cut because of the high-interest bond market. -- The Sun, June 13, 1969.

* Engineers designing the controversial new Bay Bridge span are completing last-minute changes in specifications in hopes of keeping bids close to the $35 million estimate. The new bridge is due to open in March 1971. -- The Sun, June 20, 1969.
