Colorado Rockies -- Signed pitcher Doug Million, their No. 1 pick TC in the 1994 amateur draft.

Florida Marlins -- Placed P Jeremy Hernandez on the 60-day disabled list. Purchased the contract of P Willie Fraser from Triple-A Edmonton. Announced that 1B Orestes Destrade has refused assignment and has become a free agent.

Texas Rangers -- Activated P Dan Smith from the 15-day DL and optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Miami Heat -- Agreed to terms with coach Kevin Loughery on a multi-year contract extension.

Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference -- Announced that Morgan State University will be the host of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference basketball tournament next March. Announced that the Heritage Bowl will return to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on New Year's Day weekend. The game matches teams from the MEAC and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Boston College -- Announced the resignation of hockey coach Mike Milbury.

Georgetown -- Announced that G Allen Iverson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball.
