Md. reimburses money spent for land

The state Board of Public Works has reimbursed Carroll County for $193,860 it spent to buy 1.8 acres adjacent to Piney Run Park in the Eldersburg area.

The county purchased the land, which has a house on it, in January for that amount after state Program Open Space officials gave preliminary approval.

The property is on the north side of Martz Road near Piney Run Lake. The park's maintenance supervisor lives in the house there now.
