STABBING: Western District -- A city employee assigned to the water and waste water department was listed in critical condition today at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being stabbed Wednesday night in the 1000 block of N. Stricker St. No arrest had been made.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1988 Chevrolet Blazer with Maryland tags 610809M was stolen from the 4600 block of Maine Ave. Wednesday.

STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- Someone stole a 1994 Dodge van with Maryland tags 544303M Wednesday from the 3900 block of W. Northern Parkway.

CARJACKING: Northwestern District -- A Pennsylvania resident was in the 2600 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Tuesday when a man forced her out of her 1985 Buick Century with Pennsylvania tags ANY6459 and drove away.

MURDER TRY/ARREST: White Marsh Precinct -- Police arrested a 30-year-old Overlea resident Wednesday and charged him with assault with intent to murder during an altercation with a friend. The victim, a 30-year-old resident of the 100 block of E. Elm St. in Fullerton, and the accused were arguing in the first block of Marks Avenue in Rosedale around 6 p.m. Wednesday when the accused struck the victim several times with his fist. The blows caused the victim to fall to the ground and strike his head on a rock. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was listed in critical but stable condition. The accused, Robert Hornsberger, of the 4200 block of Kalb Ave., was being held at the police station pending a bail hearing.

KIDNAPPING/ARREST: Wilkens Precinct -- Police arrested a 35-year-old man and were seeking a 24-year-old woman in connection with the kidnap and assault of a 70-year-old man Monday. After the victim, a resident of the 3200 block of Bero Road, invited the woman into his home, the man entered behind the woman and assaulted the victim. The trio left the house, with the victim and woman in the victim's car and the other man following in a second car. On the way to an ATM to take money from the victim's account, the elderly man escaped. Police were seeking the couple when the man gave himself up Wednesday. Charged with assault, kidnapping and related charges is Harry HTC Charles Miller, of the 400 block of Bigley Ave. A warrant was to be issued for the woman's arrest.
