* Although a day behind the actual anniversary, the birth of the flag was observed this afternoon by the Annapolis Lodge of Elks in front of the State House. Afterward, several hundred visiting Elks from around the state were entertained at a crab feast. -- The Sun, June 15, 1919.

* Annapolis and Claiborne, on Maryland's Eastern Shore, were officially linked yesterday as the state-subsidized steamer Gov. Emerson C. Harrington made her first regular trip between the two shores. -- The Sun, June 20, 1919.

* A delegation of 50 members of the U.S. Congress visited the Naval Academy yesterday and thoroughly inspected the grounds and buildings. A major matter was the proposed acquisition of two blocks of city property. If taken, about $1 million would be lost from the assessable base of the city. -- The Sun, June 29, 1919.
