Memorial Day Observances

Many Memorial Day observances are scheduled for the Baltimore area this weekend. Among them:


* Tomorrow, 9 a.m. Annapolis. Parade, starting at Amos Garrett Boulevard. To National Cemetery on West Street for services, then down West Street, through downtown to U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery for services, out to Memorial Circle at City Dock, more services. West Street, College Avenue and Randall streets will be closed from 8:45 a.m. to 10 a.m.


* Tomorrow, 11 a.m., South Baltimore. Vietnam Veterans of America, Baltimore Chapter 451, services at the Maryland Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Waterview Avenue and Hanover Street, near Harbor Medical Center in South Baltimore. Information: 633-0857.


* Today, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Owings Mills. American Jewish War Veterans, observance at the Jewish War Veterans Monument, Jewish Community Center, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave.

* Tomorrow, 11 a.m. Cockeysville. Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Road. The 50th anniversary of D-Day will be the theme. Participants include the First U.S. Army Concert Band, color-guard units. Information: 666-0490.


* Tomorrow, 10 a.m. Westminster. Parade, along Maryland Avenue to Man Street, east on Fain Street to Center Street, left on Center Street to Willis Street, right on Willis to the Court House Annex. Ceremonies at Westminster Cemetery.

* Tomorrow, noon. Westminster. Vietnam Veterans of America Inc., Carroll County Chapter No. 650, services at the Carroll County Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Willis Street. Information: 239-8372 or 239-6274.

* Tomorrow, 1:15 p.m. Taneytown. Parade forms at the Taneytown Bank & Trust Co. parking lot, East Baltimore Street and Trevanion Road. Wreath-laying at 1:45 p.m. at the monument in front of the bank, then the parade will proceed to Memorial Park for ceremonies.


* Tomorrow, 11 a.m., Aberdeen. American Legion Bernard L. Tobin Post 128, VFW Memorial Post 10028 and Fitzgerald Moore Memorial Post 1841, Catholic War Veterans. Wreath-laying ceremony at Veterans Park, North Parke and North Rogers streets. Information: Charles Greer, 272-9822, or 272-5141.

* Tomorrow, 11 a.m. Havre de Grace. American Legion Post 47, ceremonies at Angel Air Cemetery, after procession from post home on St. John Street. Flowers being placed on the grave of Millard E. Tydings, a former U.S. senator and the post's first president. Wreath-laying ceremony will follow at Tydings Park. Music by the Havre de Grace High School band. Information: Albert Bagley, 939-0234.
