Fast-food employee, 32, robbed of cash

May 27, 1994

A 32-year-old fast-food restaurant employee was robbed of cash as he left the Ellicott City store after closing late Wednesday night, Howard County police said.

Police said David Waxter of Baltimore was walking to his car in front of the Wendy's in the 9200 block of Route 40 at 11:40 p.m. when a man approached him from behind.

The man ordered Mr. Waxter not to move and threatened to kill him. Mr. Waxter immediately ran, dropping a bank bag of cash.

The robber did not pursue the employee, instead apparently grabbing the bag of cash, police said.

Police said Mr. Waxter could not describe the robber or identify a weapon because his back had been turned. Detectives are still investigating.
