13-14 -- The Harford Sox defeated Bel Air, 3-1, Wednesday in Metro League action on its home field at C. Milton Wright.

Danny Green went the distance for the Sox, striking out nine, walking three and scattering five hits.

The Sox took a two-run lead in the first inning. A Bel Air throwing error allowed Chad Blevins to score from third, and a single by Adam Rafalski drove in Paul Isbell.

Brad Glascock drove in the Sox's third run on a RBI groundout in the third inning. Eric Shank was 2-for-3 (two doubles), Joey Criss and Jeff Greggs were both 1-for-2.

On Monday, the Sox won its first game in the Eastern Division of the Metro League, defeating the Emmorton Mudhens, 13-6.

Pitcher Isbell improved his record to 2-1, while Josh Mawhinney came in with strong relief, striking out three of four batters.

For the Sox, Isbell was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Shank 2-for-4 with one RBI, Brad Glascock 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Criss 2-for-2 with a double and a triple for two RBIs, and Blevins 2-for-4. Ricky Black singled in one run and Greggs was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

For Bel Air, Kim Daniele pitched a complete game, giving up two earned runs, four hits and striking out four. Chuck Pindell had a single and a double for Bel Air.

Boys soccer

David Dochter, 14, a member of the Pasadena Top Guns, recently scored a game-clinching goal against Potomac to help the team advance to the final of the Maryland State Cup. The Top Guns won that game, 2-0, and will play the Baltimore Stars at Andrews Air Force Base during the tournament finals, June 4-5.

Dochter also contributed to the Top Guns' championship season in the National Capital Select League.

As a member of the Region I Olympic Developmental Team, Dochter has competed in Bermuda and recently played in the Dallas Cup in Texas. He scored a goal against Costa Rica, as the U.S. team went 2-2-1 in Cup action.

Dochter is a freshman at John Carroll School.

Under-12 -- The Genstar Booters improved to 3-0 with a 4-0 win over Havre de Grace Sunday. Ronnie Metzger led the way, scoring two goals, and Brad Crockett and Nick Mummert each tallied a goal.

Brad Frounfelker defended the Booters' goal with seven saves. Also contributing to the Booters' victory were Steve Adolph, Mike Barnes, Dan Bauer, Donald Beckman, Danny Crumbacker, Brian Donovan, Dustin Goodman, Bobby Griffin, Steve Kulwicki, Steve Markiewicz, James Sonnichsen and Danny Troy.

Under-14 -- The Genstar Booters took a 2-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat the Hickory Lazers, 4-1, Sunday.

Ronnie Metzger, who had a hat trick, and Liz Pyzik scored for the Booters.

Eddie Griffin had one assist, and Jarod Dennis tended goal. Also contributing in the victory were Chris Avalos, Carlo Buendia, Ryan Byrd, Pat Dempsey, Joe Dilworth, Brad Hickey, Alexander Ioannidis, Ryan Letke, Dan Magee and David Petrowski.

Under-16 -- The Lazers S.C. will play Reisterstown in a rematch in its final game of the Baltimore Beltway League. Earlier this season, Reisterstown rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit for a 3-2 victory.

Alan Batac scored two goals for the Lazers, one on a penalty kick after being tripped in the penalty box, the other on a powerfully angled shot from far out on the right wing.

Last weekend, the team suffered a setback to BFC '79, 2-0. The Lazers will compete in a tournament in Vineland, N.J., over Memorial Day weekend.
