Senior Amy Finlayson accounted for the game's only run in the first inning, then made it stand up with a three-hit, 10-strikeout effort, as 12th-ranked Bel Air defeated Dundalk, 1-0, in a Class 3A North Region semifinal at Thomas Run Park.

* South River 14, Dunbar 1: Mandy McLaughlin pitched her second no-hitter in three weeks in leading South River past Dunbar in a 2A East Region semifinal at Lombard Middle School. She struck out 12.

* Elkton 9, Fallston 4: Karen Jordan drove in six runs with a double and a home run to lead Elkton (14-5) to a victory over Fallston (11-7) in a Class 2A North Region semifinal at Thomas Run Park.

* Franklin 12, Parkville 7: Raina Arengo went 2-for-4, including a double and a triple, to lead host Franklin to a win over Parkville in a Class 3A North Region semifinal.

* Sparrows Point 10, Hereford 6: Tammy Hudson's three-run homer capped a seven-run first inning as Sparrows Point held off host Hereford in a Class 1A South Region semifinal.

* Owings Mills 23, Central 0: Alison Kleiner recorded 13 of her 15 outs by strikeouts as Owings Mills topped Central in a Class 1A South Region semifinal.

* City 26, Poly 12: Julie Friedman went 5-for-6 with a home run and four RBIs to lead City past Poly in a Class 3A East Region semifinal.
