Glenelg wins softball title

No. 8 Glenelg claimed the Howard County softball title with a 17-2 victory over host Hammond yesterday.

Jodi Kielman led a 10-hit attack for the Gladiators (18-2, 10-1) with two triples.

Glenelg put together six-run innings in the fourth and fifth.

Emily Kessler went the distance for Glenelg, allowing four hits and two runs.

* Atholton 5, Oakland Mills 0: Junior Kim Ruprecht pitched a complete-game two-hitter, leading No. 9 Atholton past visiting Oakland Mills.


* Glenelg 8, Centennial 2: Mike Lookingbill pitched a complete-game five-hitter, leading No. 14 Glenelg past visiting Centennial.
