Chicago Cubs -- Activated P Jose Guzman from the 15-day DL.

Cleveland Indians -- Traded P Tom Kramer to the Cincinnati Reds for P John Hrusovsky and assigned Hrusovsky to Double-A Canton-Akron.

Florida Marlins -- Promoted Frank Reberger, bullpen coach, to pitching coach, and Bob McClure, bullpen catcher and assistant coach, to bullpen coach.

Minnesota Twins -- Activated OF Rich Becker from the 15-day DL and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake City.

Oakland Athletics -- Released P Edwin Nunez. Recalled OF Ernie Young from Double-A Huntsville.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Placed P Curt Schilling on the 15-day DL. Activated P Larry Andersen from the 15-day DL.

San Diego Padres -- Activated P Scott Sanders from the 15-day DL. Optioned IF Keith Lockhart to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Texas Rangers -- Placed OF Oddibe McDowell on the 15-day DL, retroactive to May 14. Recalled P Hector Fajardo from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Assigned IF Jeff Huson to Triple-A Oklahoma City on a medical rehab assignment.

Basketball

NBA -- Fined Phoenix Suns G Danny Ainge $5,000 for deliberately hitting Houston Rockets G Mario Elie in the face with the ball Friday in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals.
