A 43-year-old man was killed in a two-car accident in Taylorsville about 2:25 a.m. yesterday.

Robert John Siebeking of the 4000 block of Iroquois Drive was pronounced dead at the scene, not far from his home. His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy.

State police said Mr. Siebeking was driving his 1984 Chevrolet Cavalier west on Route 26 and apparently was preparing to make a left turn onto Franklinville Road when his car was struck in the rear by a 1991 Ford Ranger.

Police identified the driver of the truck as Marc Aaron Combs, 21, of the 3600 block of Hooper Road, New Windsor.

Police said Mr. Combs was not injured in the crash. He was taken to the state police barracks in Westminster and detained on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was later released on his own recognizance while the state's attorney's office reviews the information.

Charges are pending, according to Tfc. Darin R. Wagner.

Mr. Siebeking was the fifth person killed in a traffic accident in Carroll County this year.
