The Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights recently celebrated a year of accomplishments and accolades at its luncheon at the Chartwell Country Club.

President Celeste Riddle introduced Christopher Benson, the 1994 Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation Leadership Training Program representative sponsored by the club. The North County High School student spoke about his experiences in the program.

Riddle noted that the club's civic activities were recognized this year by the Maryland Federation of Woman's Clubs at its state convention. The club received many honors, including the prestigious "Save the Bay Award."

Two students who won the club's writing contest went on to win prizes at the state level. In the poetry competition, first place for grades four to six went to Jonathan Maurath, and second place in grades 10 to 12 went to Hae Sung Yoon.

New officers and board members were installed at the luncheon: Frances Thomas, president; Jane Bond, first vice president; Mary Foster, second vice president; Jean Hutchinson, recording secretary; and Elizabeth Higdon, treasurer.

On the board of directors are: Jo Barker, Lois Smith, Betty Mohr, Jenny Kuhn and Maude Sauerhammer.
