Man sought in robbery of salesman

Howard County police are looking for a man who pointed a gun at a salesman and took a carton of cigarettes in Harper's Choice Tuesday afternoon.

Robert Moses, an employee of the George W. Cochran Co. Inc. in Washington, was delivering cigarettes to stores in the Harper's Choice Village Center at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday when an armed man approached him, police said.

The man grabbed a carton of cigarettes and ran away without injuring Mr. Moses, police said.

The man was described as white, in his mid-30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. He had brown shoulder-length hair and was wearing blue jeans and a dark T-shirt.

Council to address graffito, vandalism

County Police Chief James Robey and County Human Rights Administrator Jim Henson are expected to attend tonight's Columbia Council meeting to address the problem of graffito and vandalism on Columbia Association property.

At last week's meeting, council members passed around photographs of graffito on an underpass along CA open-space property.

The meeting is at 8 p.m. at the Columbia Association Building, 10221 Wincopin Circle.

The council also will discuss the status of the Wilde Lake Dam repair and sediment removal project.

* Dorsey's Search: 5600 block of Columbia Road: A 1990 Ford Probe with Maryland tags BCH788 was stolen Monday, police said.
