Couple being held on charges of suspected PCP possession

May 12, 1994

A North Laurel couple were arrested on drug charges early yesterday when Howard County police raided their apartment and found suspected PCP, Howard County police said.

The police department's Street Drug Section and Tactical Unit served a search and seizure warrant in the 9100 block of Whiskey Bottom Road at 12:30 a.m.

Two bottles of suspected liquid PCP, parsley allegedly treated with PCP and suspected drug paraphernalia were seized from the apartment, police said. PCP is a hallucinogen known to cause aggressive behavior. Cigarettes are sometimes dipped in the liquid form of the drug and smoked.

Michael Anthony Carotenuto, 23, and Ona Carotenuto, 22, were being held in lieu of $5,000 bond each at the Howard County Detention Center yesterday after a bond hearing.

Both were charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP, possession of PCP and possession of drug paraphernalia.
