Couple robbed of $286 teen charged

A Lincoln Heights youth has been arrested and charged in the armed robbery of a couple in Annapolis early Saturday.

The incident was one of two robberies reported in Annapolis during the weekend.

According to police reports, Gaelle Mizquiy Legeay and Sean Michael Callin, both of Cathedral Street, were robbed at gunpoint by five men. They told police that the attack occurred at Conduit and Gorman streets about 3 a.m. Saturday.

The men took $286 and ran toward Church Circle, they said.

Police later spotted several men matching the descriptions of the suspects. As police approached, the men ran, but one was captured.

Police recovered $60 and a handgun, according to police.

Roger Ramone Smith, 17, of the first block of Lincoln Parkway was being held in the county jail in lieu of $100,000 bond. He was charged with two counts each of robbery, possession of a handgun and using a handgun in the commission of a felony.

In the other robbery, Jeffrey Scott Leach, 27, of the 1300 block of West St. was attacked by a man about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of West St.

Mr. Leach told police that the man shoved him against a wall and threatened to kill him. The robber took a blue backpack, a wallet and money.

* Annapolis: Someone broke the front windows of a liquor store in the 2400 block of Solomons Island Road Friday morning and took $148 from the cash register.

* Annapolis: Three cases of beer worth $60 were stolen Saturday afternoon from a restaurant in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road.

* Lothian: License plates were stolen Friday from a car parked on Lower Pindell Road near Route 4.
