Construction to begin on Route 3 this month

The State Highway Administration has contracted a Millersville company to widen southbound state Route 3 in Anne Arundel County, starting this month.

Another southbound lane will be added, and Reliable Contracting Co. will patch and resurface the road.

Single lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and message signs, arrow boards and traffic cones will be set up to guide motorists.

The $700,000 project will cover about one mile from north of Johns Hopkins Road to Davidsonville Road (Route 424).
