* SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 3700 block of Spaulding Ave. was shot in the right index finger by man in the 2200 block of Ruskin Ave.

* PURSE SNATCH: Western District -- A woman who lives in the first block of S. Carrollton Ave. was in the 1100 block of W. Baltimore St. Thursday when a man stole her purse containing $40.

* CARJACKING: Northeastern District -- A man who lives in the 2300 block of Westfield Road was accosted by four men, one with a handgun, who stole his motorcycle in the 4400 block of Marble Hall Road Thursday.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking several men who attacked a resident of the 1700 block of E. 30th St. in the 1900 block of E. 29th St. Thursday and robbed him of $150.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- A woman who lives in the 2100 block of Barclay St. reported that while on a date with a man Thursday morning, the man struck her several times, stole her purse and then pushed her from his car in the 3000 block of Remington Ave.

* ROBBERY: Northern District -- Police were seeking two men who robbed a resident of the 1400 block of Sheffield Road of $12 in the 2600 block of Loyola Northway Thursday.

* BURGLARY/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man who broke into the Enoch-Pratt Free Library branch in the 400 block of E. 33rd St. Thursday. No property was stolen.

* THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone stole books valued at $30 from a car parked at a 7/Eleven store in the 500 block of Swann Ave. Thursday.


* THEFT/ARREST: White Marsh Precinct -- Police arrested a 37-year-old Baltimore man Thursday who attempted to leave Woodward & Lothrop at the White Marsh Mall in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Blvd. without paying for nearly $600 worth of clothing. Charged with felony theft and held in lieu of $25,000 bond was Barnett Gough, of the 200 block of N. Chester St.

* ROBBERY: Garrison Precinct -- A man who implied he had a handgun robbed the High's dairy store in the 10500 block of Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills Thursday.
