No. 1 Loyola rolls into CAA final with 11-6 win

SALISBURY — Gina Roberts scored four goals to lead No. 1 Loyola (14-0) to an 11-6 win over James Madison (6-8) in a semifinal of the Colonial Athletic Association women's lacrosse tournament at Curley Field yesterday.

The Greyhounds, the tournament's top seed, advance to play second-seed William & Mary in today's final.

Tara Kramer finished with one goal and two assists for Loyola, and Linda Ohrin had 11 saves.

Swarthmore 15, W. Md. 13

Julie Noyes scored seven goals as Swarthmore (7-2, 4-1) edged Western Maryland (8-1, 5-1) in overtime in a Centennial Conference game.

Noyes put Swarthmore ahead 11-10 with 1:13 left in regulation, but Western Maryland's Jill Grosso sent the game into overtime with her lone goal with 45 seconds remaining. Swarthmore then outscored the Green Terror 3-1 in the first overtime.

Hopkins 12, Ursinus 8

Becca Savage, Jenn Ward and Sonia Dickson scored three goals each as No. 4 Johns Hopkins (10-0, 6-0) beat Ursinus (4-4) in a Centennial Conference game. Ward has 44 goals and 19 assists to lead the team with 63 points.

Salisbury 8, Frostburg 5

SALISBURY -- Crissy Fellona scored three goals to lead

Salisbury (6-3) over Frostburg State (4-2). Jenny Shelley and Susan Fatz added two goals each for Salisbury.

Haverford 13, Washington 6

CHESTERTOWN

CHESTERTOWN -- Sarah McBride scored four goals as Haverford (7-5) beat Washington College (1-8). Renne Guckert led Washington with four goals.
