Townhome has affordable simplicity

FLOOR PLAN

April 17, 1994

The Chesapeake is a three-level, end-of-group townhome with a side entry that leads to the 19-by-16-foot living room at the front of the first floor. This room can be enhanced with a wood-burning fireplace for $2,900.

A 9-by-10-foot, U-shaped kitchen and a 10-by-10-foot dining room with sliding glass door to the 10-by-8-foot deck occupy the rear of the house.

A powder room, laundry area and a coat closet also are on the entry level.

Upstairs, there's a 17-by-11-foot master bedroom with dual closets, two more bedrooms and a full bath. For $2,900 you can add a master bath.

An unfinished basement, GE-brand appliances and tilt-in insulated windows with screens are some of the other standard features in the Chesapeake.

The Chesapeake is built at The Courts at Southfields in Elkton, Cecil County, by E. P. Guidi Inc.

With a base price of $84,900 and 1,280-square-feet of finished living space, the home received an Affordable Housing Recognition award for 1992 from the Home Builders Association of Maryland.

Guidi's efforts to build an airtight house earned a certificate for Excellence in Energy Efficiency from Conowingo Power Co.
