Orioles update

Mike Mussina and Ben McDonald have combined for all five of the Orioles' wins. Arthur Rhodes faced Texas in his first start and allowed six earned runs in three innings. In two starts against Texas last season, Rhodes went 0-1 and allowed nine earned runs in 11 1/3 innings. McDonald went 3-0 against the Rangers last season with a 3.36 ERA. Sid Fernandez, coming off two minor league injury rehabilitation starts, makes his American League debut on national television.

Rangers update

The Rangers took two of three from the Orioles last weekend at Camden Yards, scoring 20 runs. Despite that, the Rangers went into last night's game ranked 13th in the American League with a .242 batting average and last in hits (48), walks (16) and on-base percentage (.299). Still, the Rangers hit eight home runs in the five games going into last night's series finale against Milwaukee. Kenny Rogers, the first left-hander the Orioles will face this season, went 3-0 with a 3.22 ERA against them last season.
