Three young boys have been arrested and police are searching for a fourth, after a group of youths forced its way into a house off South Center Street in Westminster and sexually assaulted one of two girls there Saturday.

Police said the two girls reported that they were entering the house when four juveniles pushed them inside and forced their way into the house.

Investigators said that when the girl who lived there threatened to call police, one of two 12-year-old boys grabbed a knife from the kitchen.

Police said that the boy began choking the girl but that she was able to break free and run to a second-floor bedroom with the intention of calling the police.

Before she could call, one of the 12-year-old boys and a 13-year-old companion caught her. Police said she was sexually assaulted by the younger boy while his accomplice held her down on the bed.

About this time, the victim's mother came home. The four boys ran from the house, one of them pushing out a screen and jumping from a second-floor window, police said.

One of the 12-year-old boys was charged with breaking and entering, assault, battery, assault with a deadly weapon, malicious destruction of property and a fourth-degree sex offense.

A second 12-year-old and the 13-year-old were charged with breaking and entering and malicious destruction of property.

All three boys were released to the custody of their mothers.

The fourth juvenile is still being sought, police said.
