Chicago Cubs -- Traded P Shawn Boskie to the Philadelphia Phillies for P Kevin Foster. Called up P Chuck Crim from Double-A Iowa.

Florida Marlins -- Placed IF Greg Colbrunn on the 15-day DL, retroactive to April 9. Announced they will activate IF Dave Magadan from the disabled list today.

San Diego Padres -- Signed 1B Kevin Maas to a minor-league contract and assigned him to Double-A Wichita.

Basketball

NBA -- Fined Phoenix Suns F Charles Barkley $7,500 for making derogatory comments about the officiating and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after a game Sunday.

Dallas Mavericks -- Fired vice president Rick Sund.

Houston Rockets -- Signed Larry Robinson to a second 10-day contract.

College

NCAA -- Placed Louisiana Tech men's basketball program on one-year probation for various infractions.

Patriot League -- Named Navy 1B Marcus Lee and sophomore P Toby Moore player and pitcher of the week, respectively.

Bucknell -- Named Garret Chachere assistant football coach.

Delaware -- Announced the resignation of assistant football coach Jim McCarthy so he can take a similar position at Lehigh.

Juniata -- Announced the resignation of offensive coordinator Jim Hostler.

Kansas State -- Named Tom Asbury basketball coach.

Kean -- Named Rick Wilson women's basketball coach.

Kutztown -- Announced it will not renew the contract of basketball coach Bill Whitney. Named Steve Hahn, assistant coach, interim coach.

Lehigh -- Named Rod Rust linebackers coach, Todd Bradford defensive coordinator, Dave Clawson offensive coordinator, Andy Coen offensive line coach, Barry Fetterman wide receivers coach, Jim McCarthy defensive line coach and Tim Moncman defensive assistant coach.

Ohio University -- Signed basketball coach Larry Hunter to a five-year contract.

Pennsylvania -- Named Patrick Baker women's soccer coach.

San Diego State -- Named Peter Mattera women's tennis coach.

L Southern Colorado -- Named Tom Shoji men's volleyball coach.

Cincinnati Bengals -- Claimed LB Santo Stephens off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dallas Cowboys -- Former All-Pro and University of Maryland All-American lineman Randy White will be inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame on May 17 at the Du Pont Country Club. White, who attended McKean High in Wilmington, was elected in his first year of eligibility.

Los Angeles Rams -- Named Rennie Simmons tight ends coach.

Las Vegas Posse (CFL) -- Signed RB Eugene Napolean and OL Todd Oberdorf.

Sacramento Gold Miners (CFL) -- Signed S Tom Gerhart, OL John Buddenburg and CB Robert McWright.
