POLICE

* Mayberry: A resident of the 2500 block of Robert Arthur Road told state police someone broke into his house by forcing a door and stole a videocassette recorder, camera and jewelry Friday. He estimated the loss at $1,305.

* Marston: A resident of the 2500 block of Marston Road reported to state police that someone punctured all four tires of his vehicle while it was parked near his house Saturday. Damage is estimated at $100.

FIRE

* New Windsor: New Windsor, Union Bridge and Westminster responded to a report of a house fire in the 500 block Roops Mill Road at 5:47 p.m. Sunday. It was a chimney fire, the 109th in Carroll since Oct. 11, 1993.

Units were out for one hour, 23 minutes.

New Windsor responded to a brush fire on Hoke Road at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday. Units were out for 29 minutes.

* Taneytown: Taneytown responded to an auto fire on Sells Mills Road at 5:14 p.m. Friday. Units were out for 20 minutes.
