No. 2 St. Paul's defeats Severn, 12-4

Jamie Pollock and John Solter scored four goals each as visiting and No. 2 St. Paul's (5-0) defeated Severn, 12-4, in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association game yesterday.

The Crusaders scored four goals in the second quarter to build a 5-2 halftime advantage, then held the Admirals scoreless in the third quarter while they added three goals to increase their lead to 8-2.

Todd Winchester had three goals for Severn (1-7, 0-3).

* Loyola 21, McDonogh 0: Keith Euker scored five goals to lead No. 3 Loyola (5-0) past McDonogh (2-6), in a MIAA game.

Girls lacrosse

* South Carroll 12, Atholton 2: Pam Dempsey scored three goals and Erin Windsor, Carli Denham and Tracie DiDio each added two, leading South Carroll (1-2) past Atholton in a nonleague game.

* North Carroll 15, Oakland Mills 14: Laura Burkhouse scored four goals and Rachel Hare, Stacey Cook, Molly Evans, Jen Bonager added two, leading North Carroll past host Oakland Mills (0-2) in a nonleague game. Elizabeth Koza scored six goals to lead Oakland Mills.


* Arlington Baptist 11, Carroll Christian 4: Arlington Baptist (1-0) scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to rally past Carroll Christian (1-1).
