Los Angeles Dodgers -- Placed OF Darryl Strawberry on the DL.

NBA -- Named Seattle F Shawn Kemp Player of the Week. Kemp averaged 27.0 points and 12.3 rebounds to lead the SuperSonics to a 4-0 record.

Ball State -- Fired Lynn Mitchem and Larry Davis, men's assistant basketball coaches.

Clemson -- Suspended LB Derek Burnette for the rest of the semester for violating team rules.

Livingstone -- Announced the resignation of Stan Lewter, men's basketball coach, effective April 8.

Michigan -- Announced Trish Roberts, women's basketball coach, has been suspended for one game by the Big Ten Conference for criticizing game officials after a loss to Ohio State.
