Pizza deliveryman kidnapped and robbed

A pizza deliveryman was kidnapped and robbed Monday night by a man who hid in the deliveryman's car while he was taking a pizza to a Severn home, county police said yesterday.

The deliveryman, Bradley D. Easom, 30, was getting back into his car in the 900 block of Johnson Grove Road at 9 p.m. when the robber put a weapon to his head and demanded that he drive to Freetown Elementary School, police said. The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled.

Break-in and beating charged to 2 men

County police have charged two men with breaking into an Odenton home Sunday night and beating a man who lived there.

Steven Edward Winters, 32, of the 1300 block of Becknell Ave., Odenton, and Richard Keith Pennell, 30, of the 1200 block of Scotts Manor Court, Odenton, were charged with assault and battery and destruction of property, police said.

According to the police report, officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Locust Road at 10 p.m. by a man who said someone was trying to break into his home and was threatening to kill him.

When officers arrived, they found a suspect punching the resident in the face, the police report said. Mr. Winters and Mr. Pennell were charged at Western District.
