Man wields knife in robbery of Box-n-Save store cashiers

A man armed with a knife robbed several cashiers at the Box-n-Save store in Sun Valley Monday evening, county police reported yesterday.

The robber walked into the store in the 7900 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard at 6:28 p.m. and threatened several cashiers with a knife.

He climbed over a wall to the office area and took several purses before trying to escape out the back door of the store.

Police said he could not get the door open and ran to the front door where he confronted a customer and stole her purse.

Cabbie robbed at gunpoint by 3 passengers

An Associated cab driver was robbed at gunpoint Monday night by three men he had driven to a home on Phirne Road, county police said yesterday.

Police said Thomas J. Morgereth, 38, picked up the men at 10:58 p.m. at a convenience store on Crain Highway and drove them to Phirne Road.

When they reached the end of the street, one of the men put a gun to the driver's side and demanded money.

Mr. Morgereth gave the men money and ran out of the cab.
