Maryland romps by JMU, 15-6

NEWARK, DEL. — HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Senior attackman Betsy Elder scored a game-high six goals as No. 2 Maryland downed James !B Madison, 15-6, yesterday at Bridgeforth Stadium.

The Terps (4-0) outscored host James Madison 6-1 in the opening 6:54.

Loyola 17, Lafayette 8

NEWARK, Del. -- Gina Roberts (Severna Park) scored six goals and had one assist, and Tara Kramer contributed five goals and two assists, as the No. 3 Loyola downed Lafayette.

Six different players scored for Loyola. Erika Mawhorr (Severna Park) had two goals and five assists and Jeanne Harrington finished with a pair of goals. Loyola goalie Linda Ohrin (Mt. Hebron) had 12 saves.

UMBC 19, George Mason 3


FAIRFAX, Va. -- Emily Petrlick and Laura Bradley scored four goals apiece as UMBC (4-0) toppled George Mason (2-4). Petrlick added four assists.

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Denise Sarver (Fallston) scored the lone goal in overtime to push Western Maryland (2-0, 1-0) over Haverford (1-3, 0-1), 11-10, in a Centennial Conference game.

Sophomore Marcie Delahoz (South Carroll) made 14 saves for the Green Terrors.

Salisbury State 12, Ithaca 9


SALISBURY -- Crissy Fellona and Candice Blanchette each scored four goals to lift Salisbury State (4-2) over Ithaca (0-1).
