Salisbury State tops F&M, 20-10

ST. MARY'S CITY — SALISBURY -- Jason Coffman scored seven goals as Salisbury State defeated Franklin & Marshall, 20-10, yesterday.

Salisbury State (6-0), ranked No. 2 in Division III, scored seven straight goals during a six-minute stretch in the first quarter to break a 2-2 tie. Coffman had two goals and two of his four assists in the run.

Middlebury 12, Western Md. 4

Roy McKinnon scored three goals, and Middlebury (2-0) shut out host Western Maryland (1-4) in the second quarter as the Panthers posted a non-conference win.

Sophomore Dean Coccia (Chesapeake-AA) had two of Western Maryland's goals.

Lynchburg 17, St. Mary's 13

ST. MARY'S CITY -- John Kelley scored six goals as No. 16 Lynchburg (6-2) downed St. Mary's (3-3) in Division III action. Goalie Chris Morrison (Calvert Hall) made 29 saves. Mike Marchetti scored three goals and had two assists.

Don Brenneman led St. Mary's with two goals.

Dickinson 14, Goucher 8

Junior midfielder Mark Notaro and senior attackmen Bobby Berna and Lael Campbell recorded all four goals to lead Dickinson (2-2) past Goucher (2-4).

=1 Sophomore attackman Keith Guinto scored four.

Nassau CC 17, Essex CC 9

Blake Miller scored four goals as visiting Nassau Community College (N.Y.) downed Essex (3-1). Nassau (2-3) was led by Brian Belford, who scored three.

Darin Gallagher and Scott Sullivan each scored two for Nassau.
