Batley's four power UMBC past VMI, 13-8

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior midfielder Jamie Batley scored a game-high four goals and added an assist as UMBC ran past Virginia Military Academy, 13-8, yesterday at Patchin Field. Nine Retrievers scored.

The Retrievers (5-2), who have won four of their past five, expanded their one-goal lead by scoring four of the next five goals to take a 7-3 halftime lead. After the Keydets (3-3) cut the lead to 10-8, UMBC shut out VMI in the final quarter and scored the final three goals.
