Liberty rallies to defeat Wilde Lake

Jessica Horneman had two hits, helping Liberty past Wilde Lake, 23-13, in a non-league game yesterday.

Liberty (1-2) had only four hits as it rallied from an 11-2 deficit in the second inning, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Heather Lee pitched three hitless innings for the victory for Liberty.

* Centennial 17, Howard 1: Right-hander Kim May pitched a three-hitter to lead No. 3 Centennial (2-1) past Howard in a Howard County League game.

* Harford Christian 24, Harford Tech 9: Suzanne Akers had a double and a triple, helping Harford Christian (1-0) to a victory over Harford Tech (0-1) in a Harford County game.

* Hereford 28, Sparrows Point 13: Jen Bender had three hits to lead host Hereford (3-0) past Sparrows Point (0-2) in a Baltimore County 1A-2A League game. There was only one extra-base hit and 17 errors in the game.

* Patterson 13, Poly 12: Yadira Rodrigues hit a triple and had four RBIs, helping visiting Patterson (2-1) beat Poly (1-1) in a Baltimore City 2A-3A League game. The game was called in the fifth inning because of darkness.
