Robber snatches woman's purse outside food store

A 23-year-old Glen Burnie woman was robbed of her purse in the parking lot of a grocery store Thursday night, county police reported.

Sandra K. Hook, 23, told officers that she was walking in the parking lot of the Giant at East Park Shopping Center on Crain Highway at 10:30 p.m. when a man ran up behind her and grabbed her purse. She struggled with him for several minutes until the purse strap snapped, and the man ran off with it, police said.

Ms. Hook, of the 100 block Northdale Road, described the robber as a black man, 30 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a baseball hat, green sweat pants and a light-colored jacket.

Two threaten man with knife, take $120

A Linthicum man was robbed of his wallet in Glen Burnie Thursday night, county police reported.

According to police, Erik Peter Foster, 21, of the 300 block of E.

Maple Road, was walking in the 300 block of Faywood Court at 9 p.m. when two men ran up to him and demanded his money. One robber put a knife to his chest, and Mr. Foster gave him $120.

The robbers fled. Police did not have a description of the men.
