EMMITSBURG -- Tylor Amon's third goal of the game broke a 12-12 tie with 1:32 left and lifted Colgate (1-0) to a 14-12 victory over Mount St. Mary's (0-2) yesterday.
Entering the final quarter with a 10-9 lead, the Mountaineers took a two-goal lead on Matt Moran's goal 1:12 into the period.
Colgate scored three unanswered goals to regain the lead, 12-11, with 7:54 remaining. Chris Konrad ignited the rally with his third goal of the game, and Amon and Joby Fowler had the others.
With 3:12 left, Mike Rice of Mount St. Mary's tied it at 12 with his third goal of the game.
