POLICE

* Westminster: An official of the Lowe's store on Englar Road reported someone purchased numerous items from the store on Tuesday with a stolen credit card. City police, who have a description of two people wanted in the theft, said they took two RCA video camcorders, a Sony videocassette recorder, a microwave, a package of six-hour recording tapes and a package of light bulbs. The loss is estimated at $2,355.

A resident of Wimert Avenue told city police someone broke a window at the rear of his house on Tuesday. He estimated the damage at $100.

An employee of Caldor in Cranberry Mall told city police someone stole items valued at $73 from the store on Tuesday.

A resident of East Main Street told city police someone broke into her house on Monday and stole personal property. She estimated the loss at $225.

FIRE

* Silver Run: Pleasant Valley firefighters responded to an automobile fire in the 3900 block of Littlestown Pike at 10:03 p.m. Tuesday. They were out for 36 minutes.

* Westminster: Westminster responded to the 100 block of West Main St. for smoke in an apartment and discovered a plumber working in the basement with a soldering iron just before noon on Wednesday. The smoke came from the soldering iron and there was no fire. Units were out for 20 minutes.

Westminster and Reese responded to the 1200 block of Old Westminster Road for a chimney fire at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday. Units were out for 30 minutes.
