Transformer problem leaves 5,000 without power

A transformer problem at the Crownsville substation knocked out power for about 5,000 area residents yesterday afternoon, a Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. spokesman said.

Power went out at 4:28 p.m. and was restored by 5:48 p.m, Karl Neddenien said.
