Petition seeks Elkridge postal station

The United States Postal Service is being petitioned to establish a full-service Postal Station, not a contract station, in Elkridge and to create a new zip code unique to the Elkridge Postal Station.

Signatures are needed on a petition by March 31. The following locations will have petitions for residents to sign: Elkridge National Bank's lobby; Elkridge Deli-Mart, see cashier; Elkridge Library, at the Information Desk and Elkridge Superfresh, in the office.

Do not sign the petition if you have signed one within the last few months. Only residents and businesses receiving mail in Howard County, Elkridge 21227, should sign.

A minimum age limit is 16 years of age. Spouses should sign separately. Business owners or managers may sign the business name.

* Ellicott City: 3100 block of W. Springs Drive: Someone pried a laundry room door and stole the coin-filled boxes from washers and dryers Sunday.

8000 block of Main St.: A home's ground-level basement window was broken last weekend, but police said there was no entry.
