March 15, 1994

A 17-year-old was arrested and charged with assault after he allegedly pulled a BB handgun at the Carrolltown Center in Eldersburg about 6:40 p.m. Saturday.

State police said the youth was a friend of one of two men fighting inside the mall and allegedly pulled the weapon, apparently to assist his friend. The weapon was recovered and the youth was released in the custody of his guardian for a hearing in juvenile court. State police reported that mall security said the incident created panic among the crowd, but nobody was injured.
