Wanderers looking for new members to stroll Chesapeake Bay country

Do you enjoy walking in the outdoors, discovering new areas and making new friends? Then come walk with the Chesapeake Bay Country Wanderers.

The group will hold a dinner meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at Perry's Restaurant, Route 175 in Odenton.

The Retired Officers Wives' Club will hold its annual spring dance from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. April 23 at the Fort Meade Officers Club. For information and reservations, call Norma Thompson at 410-987-4868.

Fourteen organizations will explain their activities and programs at the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce Networking Night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The free get-together will be held at the Odenton Fire Hall on Route 175.

Each participating group will display literature and present a three-minute talk.

The chamber has started a service to help West County groups avoid conflicts when scheduling their events.

Organizations can fill out forms and submit them to the chamber, which will keep a master calendar for reference by all in the community.

The Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church, 1350 Blair Drive, is trying to round up some bird watchers of the Camden Yards variety.

Church members are looking for a group of 25 or more people to go see the Orioles vs. Detroit on Sept. 2.

The cost will be between $11 and $15 per person, but the more people, the lower the cost.

Cub Scout Pack 269 recently celebrated the birthday of Scouting at its Blue and Gold Banquet.

Cubmaster Mark Hagensick honored 31 scouts for their efforts:

Waugh Chapel Elementary School will hold its science fair for students in grades three, four and five next Monday through Thursday.

Projects are due on Monday.

Parents are invited to view projects from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
