Roberts' 4 goals lift Loyola, 15-7

SALISBURY — Senior Gina Roberts (Severna Park) scored four goals and added one assist to lead seventh-ranked Loyola to a 15-7 opening win over Richmond in a Colonial Athletic Association game yesterday at Curley Field.

Loyola (1-0, 1-0) notched three goals in the final 1:52 of the first to build an 11-3 lead at the half.

Michelle Meyer scored three goals and had one assist, and Tara Kramer finished with two goals and an assist. Freshman Kerri Johnson (Perry Hall) scored twice.

Richmond (0-2, 0-1) was led by Heather Dittmann and Jen Conner with two goals each.

Salisbury St. 5, Wash. & Lee 4

SALISBURY -- Flossy Owens had three goals, including the game-winner, as Salisbury (2-0) edged Washington & Lee (0-1). Owens ranks as Salisbury's third all-time leading scorer with 104 goals.

Salisbury had a 28-23 lead in shots. The Sea Gulls' Shawna Block finished with 13 saves.

R.-Macon 17, Sweetbriar 7


ASHLAND, Va. -- Laurie Litz (Maryvale) scored five goals and had an assist to lead Randolph-Macon past Sweetbriar. Shari Burdette (Garrison Forest) added three goals for Randolph-Macon.
