Aberdeen men charged after break-in at motel

Police arrested two Aberdeen men, charging one with handgun violations and the other with theft and malicious destruction at the Red Roof Inn in Aberdeen.

Witnesses gave a description of the suspects' vehicle after police had responded Monday evening to the Beards Hill Road motel, where someone had broken into a room and stolen a television set and other property worth about $500.

Police spotted the vehicle minutes later on West Bel Air Avenue at Graceford Drive in Aberdeen. Items stolen from the motel were found in the vehicle, police said.

Bryant Wyche, 29, of the 400 block of Holly Drive was charged with a handgun violation, police said. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Wilbert Davis, 33, of the 700 block of Clayton St. was charged with breaking and entering, theft and malicious destruction of property. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Bel Air men charged in theft of computer

A Bel Air resident alerted police at 2:48 a.m. March 6 to two men entering vehicles at the parking lot of the Heritage Woods apartment complex in the 700 block of Heritage Lane.

Town officers located the suspects and found in their vehicle a $3,000 laptop computer that had been reported stolen two days earlier.

Arrested and charged with theft over $300 were Hung Phung Nguyen, 24, of the 400 block of E. Broadway and Howard Neal Johnson, 20, of the 600 block of Hickory Ave.

Police said they also recovered other stolen items worth $1,200 and said the suspects may be linked to 30 similar crimes.

13 vehicles damaged with spray paint

Havre de Grace police are investigating a malicious destruction complaint after someone sprayed 13 vehicles parked the 600 block of N. Stokes St. with yellow or gold paint March 6.

Police said they are looking for several juveniles.

The amount of damage has not been determined, police said.


* 200 block of Spesutia Road: Someone stole a mixer, turntable and box of records from a business on March 2. The loss was estimated at $1,405. All items have been recovered, police said.


* 4700 block of Conowingo Road: Someone broke into Cliff's Cut Rate Liquors, damaging door glass, and stole an undisclosed amount of beer. The loss and damage was estimated at $430, police said.


* 2200 block of Pulaski Highway: Someone stole a compressor from a construction area Feb. 28. The loss was estimated at $2,000, police said.


* 1900 block of Jean Court: Someone stole golf bags, shoes, clubs, a toolbox and a ratchet set from a residence March 5. The loss was estimated at $2,698, police said.


* 200 block of Foster Knoll Drive: Someone broke into a residence and stole clothing, videotapes and money March 3. The loss was estimated at $385, police said.

* 1000 block of Pulaski Highway: Someone damaged two motor homes at a business March 4 and stole video equipment. The loss and damage were estimated at $2,579, police said.
