Goucher junior guard Clark named CAC Player of the Year

David Clark, a junior guard at Goucher, is the Capital Athletic Conference men's Player of the Year.

Clark averaged 18.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.1 steals, as the Gophers (17-9) tied for the CAC regular-season title and won the tournament.

Goucher's Gerald Garlic (Catonsville) and Predrag Durkovic made second team, and Leonard Trevino was named Coach of the Year.

The Gophers' Cassandra Clemons (Loch Raven) and DiDi Cotton made the women's second team.

Two St. Mary's players made the men's second team: senior Chris DeLisi and junior Barry Friedman.

* ST. MARY'S: Senior Sean Keehan (Lutherville) was named to the GTE University Division Academic All-America third-team college division. His grade-point average is 3.96.

* WAGNER: Senior Megan Miller (Seton Keough) had 15 points and 11 rebounds, as the Seahawks (11-17) finished their season by losing to St. Francis (Pa.), 90-70, in a Northeast Conference quarterfinal.
